Self-penned tunes performed in Modimolle.
The past few months up and coming artist Egmond has been working behind closed doors, writing songs planned for his debut album Face Of A Star. Last night the artist took the stage at a resort outside Modimolle, performing new songs acoustically, consisting of This Morning, I’m A Flower and the title track Face Of A Star. Egmond has been invited to be the guest performer at the resort for the next few weeks and promised that more new songs will debut here while he works on his first album.

As part of the marketing for his new website, www.egmond.co.za, as well as the sleeve for his planned debut album Face Of A Star, up and coming artist Egmond was spotted being photographed at a local hotel Shangri-La outside Modimolle. Behind the lens was local freelance photographer Yadie Schutte.

Production on the album Face Of A Star has started.
Egmond entered the studio today to start work on the first track to be recorded for his debut album. The song, This Morning, was chosen from several demos, including Face Of A Star and I’m A Flower, and will be released as the lead single. Vocals are set for completion in July. The song is being produced by Bernie Millar of AIR Studios in Johannesburg, with backing vocals provided by Glenda Millar and electric guitar by Sandy Robbie. This Morning has already been performed unplugged the past few weeks at a resort outside Modimolle as part of his setlist of self-penned songs.

The upcoming single was performed at his birthday concert.
Egmond held a private concert for the guests of his 23rd birthday party yesterday. Part of the setlist was a new version of This Morning that is currently in production at Bernie Millar’s AIR Studios in Johannesburg. The backtrack used for the performance was the guide track Egmond received for his vocal recording next month, and while not completed, the audience’s response was celebratory.

Egmond’s debut single is in the bag.
Egmond recorded his first song and new single This Morning in June and July at Bernie Millar’s AIR Studios in Johannesburg. The song has been performed as part of his set list on a holiday resort outside Modimolle the past few months. The new studio version of the song was performed today as part of Egmond’s weekly concerts held at the Avuxeni Resort. The song will be released on CD-single on 22 August following the completion of its planned music video. The enhanced CD-single will also include 2 bonus track. Read about the single release here.

A black and white music video was recorded this past week for Egmond’s debut single This Morning. The video, which will also be included on its CD-single, is now available to view on Egmond’s YouTube channel.

Plaaslike koerant “Die Pos” berig oor This Morning.
Die Bosveld koerant Die Pos het ‘n artikel geskryf oor die bekendstelling van This Morning, waarin hul alles vertel het oor die begin van Egmond se loopbaan. Die artikel het ‘n foto ingesluit van ‘n foto sessie wat einde Junie plaasgevind het deur fotograaf Yadie Schutte. Kommentaar oor This Morning was dat dit “wonderlike musiek” is. Joernalis Bea Emslie het die onderhoud gedoen. Intussen word This Morning gereeld gespeel by die vakansie oord Avuxeni.

Die nuwe enkelsnit verskaf vermaak tydens kompetisie met Chris Coetzer.
Die plaaslike sangfees in Modimolle, waar nuwe opkomende talent hul slag wys, het Egmond genooi om op te tree. This Morning is opgevoer by die Laerskool Nylstroom terwyl bekende sanger Chris Coetzer, en boonop Egmond se ou skool sang onderwyseres, Marga Roos, in die gehoor was. Die aand se verrigtinge is afgesluit met die opvoering om die opkomende sangers aan te moedig om aan te hou sing.
NUWE AFRIKAANSE ENKELSNIT OPGENEEM

Die opname se titel heet V’more.
Na maande se stilte is die sanger terug in die studio vir die opname van This Morning se Afrikaanse weergawe. Egmond het kort na sy optrede by die Nylstroomse Sang Fees verhuis na Hermanus, waarna ‘n handjievol nuwe musiek geskryf is, insluitende nuwe titels soos Me, The Absolutely Fabulous en I Know. I’m A Flower was beplan om die opvolg enkelsnit te wees, maar die sanger is aangeraai om This Morning in Afrikaans te op te neem omdat die klank uit sou staan in die Afrikaanse mark. Daar word ook gerapporteer dat ‘n musiek video opgeneem gaan word later in die maand.

Egmond se eerste Afrikaanse enkelsnit vandag bekendgestel.
Die Afrikaanse weergawe van die debuut enkelsnit, This Morning, word uitgereik vandag as ‘n double A-side CD-single met die Engelse weergawe. V’more is die afgelope maand opgeneem in Johannesburg by Bernie Millar van AIR Studios. Die CD-single is nou beskikbaar op Egmond.Co.Za.

‘n Onverwagte cameo by ‘n Adam Tas konsert lei tot groot veranderinge.
Tydens ‘n Adam Tas konsert in Modimolle is Egmond, wat deel van die gehoor was, gevra om sy nuwe enkelsnit V’more op te voer. ‘n Kans ontmoeting met Renier Henn van AdRock Recording Studios & Productions het gevolg, nadat die sanger meegedeel het dat sy tweede album tans opgeneem word by Renier Henn. Egmond se beplande Engelse album, Face Of A Star, sal vertaal word om in Afrikaans opgeneem te word. Die eerste liedjie wat by Renier Henn opgeneem gaan word se titel Mors.

V’more kry ‘n musiek video.
Egmond se eerste Afrikaanse liedjie het pas ook ‘n musiek video ryker geword. Die video gaan oor ‘n obsessiewe aanhanger wat al die sanger se doen en late volg. Loer hier na die musiek video.
